Blog THE NATTY TATTLER - The News of Natty Flat, Texas
Follow me on a jouney back in time. A time long, long ago...,
When Sam and Maude Erwin came to Texas and settled dangerous Indian territory.
Fight the bloodiest battles of the Civil War along side John Geupel. These are the stories photos and lives of
a pioneer family dynasty - a dynasty that came together in 1875 to settle the rugged and dangerous frontier of
Palo Pinto, Texas.
Descendents of these Palo Pinto pioneers still live in Natty Flat, a small village founded by family members in the 1800s. It was there that a one-room school, a grist mill, and general store thrived in dangerous Indian Territory.
There's nothing left of the village but thoughts of grander days in a beautiful place and time filled with cherished memories. Those few family members who remain in Natty Flat invite you to come back to the days of 'old' and join in on the fun with your no-cost FREE subscription to our monthly newsletter, The NATTY TATTLER.

Who Are The Children With Namie?

Let's Play
NAME THAT RELATIVE!

The offices of the NATTY TATTLER received a letter from Carolyn McCarty the other day. She pointed out that her grandmother, Emma Bell (Namie) Taylor’s picture (the picture that you see on the right) is probably mislabeled on the family album.

The picture was originally identified as that of Namie and her two children Orpha and Cedric. But rightly so, Carolyn points out that Namie is wearing her wedding dress.

Ike and Emma were married on the 5th of October 1898. Her nieces, Aurelia and Edith Miller were born on the 8th of August 1891 and the 31st of January 1894 respectively. And, the girls look to be seven and four year old children.

So, it could be that the youngsters are John and Dora Miller’s children, or maybe not. If you have a suggestion please click the Post A Comment line below to help solve the mystery.

Do You Know These Taylors? (photo#1) by Julie Slaughter

I inherited my Grandma Una Taylors Pictures and decided to check out some of the negatives she had. I came across some pictures of a Taylor reunion but can't identify the people because they are young and I have only seen them old. Can someone tell me who these people are?
